"People have a right to ask questions and dig deep when you're hurting people and things around you, but when I haven't talked to anybody in years, and every article I see is dope this, junkie that, whiskey this -that ain't my title....My bad habits aren't my title. My strengths and my talent are my title."

I think studying science is a good way to get into fields like history. The reason is, you learn what an argument means, you learn what evidence is, you learn what makes sense to postulate and when, what's going to be convincing. You internalize the modes of rational inquiry, which happen to be much more advanced in the sciences than anywhere else. On the other hand, applying relativity theory to history isn't going to get you anywhere. So - it's a mode of thinking

Fitter,happier, more productive,
Comfortable,
Not drinking too much,
Regular exercise at the gym
(3 days a week),
Getting on better with your associate employee contemporaries,
At ease,
Eating well
(no more microwave dinners and saturated fats),
Sleeping well
(no bad dreams),
No paranoia,
Careful to all animals
Keep in contact with old friends
(enjoy a drink now and then),
Will frequently check credit at
(moral) bank
Favors for favors,
Fond but not in love,
Nothing so ridiculously teenage and desperate,
Nothing so childish - at a better pace,
Slower and more calculated,
An empowered and informed member of society
(pragmatism not idealism),
Calm,fitter,healthier and more productive
LIKE A PIG IN A CAGE ON ANTIBIOTICS

I have come curiously close to the end,
Down Beneath my self-indulgent pitiful hole,
To feel alive, I concede and move closer
I may find comfort here.
I may find peace within the emptiness,
How pitiful.
It's calling me...It's Calling me...It's Calling me...
And in my darkest moment, fetal and weeping
The moon tells me a secret - my confidant
As full and bright as I am
This light is not my own and
A million light reflections pass over me
The source is bright and endless
She resusitates the hopeless
Without her, we are lifeless satellites drifting
And as I pull my head out I am without one doubt
Don't wanna stay down here serving my narcissism
I must crucify the ego before it's far too late
I pray the light lifts me out
Before I pine away.
So crucify the ego, before it's far too late
And leave behind this place so negative and blind and cynical
And you will come to find that we are all one mind
Capable of all that's imagined and all conceivable
So let the light touch you and let the words spill through
Just let them pass right through bringing out our hope and reason
Before we pine away.

The catch-22 situation
"Group Headquarters was alarmed, for there was no telling what people might find out once they felt free to ask whatever questions they wanted to. Colonel Cathcart sent Colonel Korn to stop it, and Colonel Korn succeeded with a rule governing the asking of questions. Colonel Korn’s rule was a stroke of genius, Colonel Korn explained in his report to Colonel Cathcart. Under Colonel Korn’s rule, the only people permitted to ask questions were those who never did. Soon the only people attending were those who never asked questions, and the sessions were discontinued altogether, since Clevinger, the corporal and Colonel Korn agreed that it was neither possible nor necessary to educate people who never questioned anything"

I am so stupid
That I cannot understand philosophy; The antithesis of this is
That philosophy is so clever that it cannot comprehend my stupidity.
These antitheses are mediated in a higher unity;in our common stupidity
And if it were so, it would be;
But as it isn't, it ain't.
That's logic
Life can only be understood backwards;
But it must be lived forwards
Philosophy consists very largely of
One philosopher arguing that all others are jackasses.
He usually proves it,
And I should add that he also usually proves that he is one himself
What if everything is an illusion and nothing exists?
In that case, I definitely overpaid for my bose speakers
There is a fine line between fishing and
Just standing on the shore like an idiot
Life may have no meaning. Or even worse,
It may have a meaning of which I disapprove
Booze is the answer. I don't remember the question
A witty saying proves nothing

Threw you the obvious
And you flew with it on your back
A name in your recollection
Down among a million same
Difficult not to feel a little bit
Disappointed and passed over
When I look right through,
See you naked but oblivious
And you don't see me
But I threw you the obvious
Just to see if there's more behind the
Eyes of a fallen angel,
Eyes of a tragedy
Here I am expecting just a little bit
Too much from the wounded
But I see, see through it all
See through, see you
'Cause I threw you the obvious
To see what occurs behind the
Eyes of a fallen angel,
Eyes of a tragedy
Oh well, oh well
Apparently nothing,
Apparently nothing at all
You don't, you don't
You don't see me
You don't, you don't
You don't see me at all
And you flew with it on your back
A name in your recollection
Down among a million same

It's not smoking that's the problem -It's the f**king lungs
It's easy to get confused,It's easier to be sure-don't think
Things you own end up owning you
Give me rampant intellectualism as a coping mechanism
If you don't know what you want in life you end up with a lot you don't
If death meant just leaving the stage long enough to change costume and come back as a new character...Would you slow down? Or speed up?”
Reality continues to ruin my life
You can pretend to be serious; you can't pretend to be witty
Indecision may or may not be my problem
Only Sick music makes money today
To believe is to know you believe, and to know you believe is not to believe
Three o'clock is always too late or too early for anything you want to do
The essence of pleasure is spontaneity
Music is the wine that fills the cup of silence
The greatest philosophy of life is to not get too philosophical about life
